		Generalized-Eigenfilter Design of a Hybrid FIR/Analog
Receive Filter Minimizing ISI, ACI, and Gaussian Noise

- ABSTRACT:
-
The flexibility and design power inherent in the
		generalized-eigenfilter approach to sophisticated
least-squares FIR-filter design problems is here
demonstrated by using it to address a classic problem:
the MMSE design of a (nonadaptive)
		fractional-tap-spacing linear equalizer and matched
filter. The solution accounts for the analog filters
and minimizes a combination of noise variance,
		mean-square intersymbol interference (ISI), and
		mean-square adjacent-channel interference (ACI).
